Plant Trees And Bring Greenery Back

Pondicherry lost more than 2.5 lakh trees in the Thane cyclone. In order to make Pondicherry green once again, Puducherry administration has come up with a scheme to plant trees in schools. The scheme is being jointly implemented by the Education and Forest Departments.

Under this scheme every government school must plant at least 100 trees in its premises. All the schools have started to actively involve in the planting of trees in their areas. It is the responsibility of the citizens to save the environment from all disasters and floods.

The Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy inaugurated this scheme on Monday by planting trees at the Savarirayalu government school.
