Journey of Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam- A Tribute to the Great Human


Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India achieved and gained a lot of accolades in various sectors of industry. His early age started with distributing newspapers after school hours. After becoming the President of India, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna- the highest civilian honour. Dr. Abdul Kalam ensures to utilize every moment of his life with best efforts. He is a man of humanity, affection, love and care.

The former President and reputed scientist passed away on 27th July 2015 at a hospital in Meghalaya. Few of the medical records revealed that he suddenly collapsed while addressing a speech at Indian Institute of Management in Shillong. He was immediately admitted in the hospital in a critical stage.

It is the duty of every human to pay a tribute to this great man. He has been called with many names such as “The Man Behind Vision 2020, People’s President” and “Missile Man”. It is important to know that Abdul Kalam has not made remarkable achievements but also conquered millions and millions hearts with his determined character, love and patriotism.

Let us have a quick glance at some of the bits and parts of his life below:

  •  Dr. Abdul Kalam was born on October 15, 1931 in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. As a son to a humble boat owner, Dr.Kalam was hard working, determined and started helping his family at an early age. He was brought up in a tolerant and dominant society. Kalam overcame all the odds and went to pursue his graduation in physics and aerospace engineering.
  • His first achievement for our country was as the Scientist. In 1960, Dr. Kalam joined in the Aeronautical Development Establishment of Defence Research and Development Organization to prove his talents.
  • After nine years, Late Dr. Kalam was moved to the Indian Space Research Organization. He considered this movement as his biggest achievement in life.
  • He started to work in various projects like Satellite-Launching Vehicle Project, Pokhran-II and much more.
  • As a true Indian, he had a dream called “Vision 2020”. He wanted our country to be one of the most developed countries in the world. Dr.Kalam gave many motivational lectures and speeches to schools, colleges, universities and institutions across the country.

It is our great honour to pay tribute to one of the greatest presidents of country “Dr. Abdul Kalam”. Let his dreams and vision for 2020 be achieved by the young bloods of the country!
